Time blocking: A game-changer

Carrie's a mom, an Army wife, and a wellness partner. She leads a busy life, and it's sometimes hectic.

A while back, she connected with a mentor who utilized a to-do list and blocked her time, and Carrie noticed how it not only enhanced her mentor's business management, but also facilitated family organization.

So, she decided to give it a try, and as she said on the podcast, it's been a game-changer.

Here are just a few of the benefits Carrie has realized from time blocking her days:

It helps her sleep

Lots of us can get into the habit of mentally replaying tasks in our heads, which can lead to a difficult time falling asleep at night. Blocking out her time has helped to alleviate this frustration for Carrie.

It gives tasks a sense of purpose

Each of us only has a set number of hours in each day. Time-blocking has highlighted Carrie's time constraints, and forced her to be thoughtful and intentional about how (and what) she prioritizes.

It reduces guilt & fosters a sense of accomplishment

Visually acknowledging accomplishments and minimizing unmet expectations has alleviated "mom guilt" for Carrie. She constantly feels successful, and if a task is unfinished, she moves it to the next day.

It makes for better weekends

For Carrie, Fridays are reserved to knock out whatever is leftover from the earlier part of the week. This could be business tasks, household chores, or family-related matters. The Friday Finishers set her up for a weekend dedicated to enjoying time with her family.

Who doesn't want more of that?
